FEED A  SCHOOL
The FeedASchool is an initiative established by Ecovironment in January 2022 to address the pressing issue of lack of food among students in rural regions of Sierra Leone. Amidst the pandemic, many students in the northern province of the country have been unable to attend school due to the seizure of public school meals. Recognizing the importance of education and the need to support these students, Ecovironment established a school feeding program with the support of funding from PLAN INTERNATIONAL SIERRA LEONE.

The program targeted five schools located in the rural regions of Port Loko and Bombali District, including Saint Mary's Primary School, Ansural Islamic Primary School, Macaulay Primary School, The Future Academy, and Port Loko Primary School. Over the course of 3 months, from January to March 2022, the program was able to provide food to over 1,600 students and teachers in these schools, thus enabling them to focus on their studies and embrace their learning process.

The FeedASchool project has had a significant impact on the students and teachers in these schools, who were previously struggling with the lack of food. By addressing this issue, Ecovironment has helped to improve attendance rates and academic performance, while also encouraging a positive attitude towards education. The success of the program highlights the importance of providing support to students in need, especially in the face of challenging circumstances like the COVID-19 pandemic.
